Cyril Simon (b. 1993) is a self taught artist based in Chennai, India. As a child he loved to draw his favourite animals and trees but as he grew older, he found other interests too. He chose science for academics, majored in Biotechnology in Loyola College, Chennai.

One day (2015) in college, a friend asked him a sketch in remembrance of her father. He handed over the sketch to her the next day. One look and it moved her to tears. At that moment, he felt that the ability to create art and make another person happy was the absolute best job in the world.

Choosing a career in art over biotechnology was a major shock to his parents. Luckily, they allowed him to follow his heart. Shortly, he set up his enterprise named Oviarts (2016) to create artworks in the genre of hyper - realism, both with pencils and paints.

In the process of learning and developing his skills, he taught himself through sustained effort and continuous practice. Although drawing hyper - real art needs tons of time, patience and perseverance, he has never given up. He enjoys each moment as he creates his artwork.

The estimated 20 hours upto 80 hours of work put in a single portrait doesn't go in vain when he witnesses the joy on people's faces and more so when they appreciate his work.
